I was able to get both the input and output assigned within the editor, but only by disabling the EIE as both an input and output device within REAPER. It is normal, and that is the limitation of windows. You cannot select one MIDI device in two applications (Reaper/Editor). There is a workaround b...

I was not able to find any controller configuration settings in REAPER I mean "settings" menu in editor. There is a button underneath the "All notes off" , and there you can select a dedicated MIDI controller as Input device (it should be set to none). I suggest to run the stand...

Please check setting menu, maybe a MIDI device is already selected as Controller Input.

You cannot set 1 midi device in two applications. it is the restriction of your MIDI Interface driver.
There are two solutions :
1-Upgrade to a new MIDI interface with more free ports.
or
2-Use a virtual MIDI port:

Right click on "ion-editor.exe" > Compatibility > and try different Compatibility mode .

There is an option in global menu to select between NRPN and CC. if you don't find it please upgrade to the latest firmware.

it should not be reflected as NRPN back sync is not supported in v2.2. hardware cannot update the editor except for wheels.

They are compatible, however micron fx2 cannot be loaded in ion, ion automatically ignores fx2 settings.
Also ion arppeggiator is not available on Micron.
