Where is the Xeno section?

Post by HelloMyNameIs »

Yesterday the package arrives me and I'm happy that's the Synth is now here.
I'm very surprised about the sound and the optical art of the device itself.

Great Work!

Want to to know what Midi driver is need for the Xeno?
Device is freezing (Display) after sending Sysex to the Device. Must turn power off/on.
Doesn't get every Note synchronous (1/16) via Midi connection.
Want to know, what make sound inside of the device when we slightly rotate them?
When we using the Reverb, with an higher decay and a lower velocity level, then came an resonance with a uplifting noise.

Actually no midi driver if you use standard MIDI In/out port. But for send/receive MIDI over USB you need a driver. This drive and the required instructions for OS update will be published in the next 1-2 days.

Which sysex file did you send to the device ? and via which MIDI utility software ?
Doesn't get every Note synchronous (1/16) via Midi connection.
What is your OS version ? we addressed out several issues including this problem in OS v1.2.

Not a big deal. The sound is generated by 88 nylon spacers under LEDs which is normal.
When we using the Reverb, with an higher decay and a lower velocity level, then came an resonance with a uplifting noise.
Which reverb algo ? Is the resonance generated by reverb or filter ?

Hello Iman thanks for the quick replay and support.

We used your two Sysex files from the webpage and we use MidiOx for uploading.

The OS is pre-installed that come from your factory. I think it is the 1.0 @ the moment.
Have solved the problem here. I used the the Midi channel and device select in the Wrapper options and not the options in the VST interface.

That's nice to read that everything is OK.

Can't reproduce the same settings at the moment. But was only a simply test with an resonant SAW wave.
AMP Velocity = 0 , Resonance=80%, Filter = 1500-2000, Filter Slope = 24, Effect WET = 100, P1 = above 160.
The extra resonance came from the reverb, it can also be normal. I'm not the great sound engineer. :D

That's all, wish you and your Team a nice Weekend.

We uploaded that two sysex files to your device via MIDI. You should change MIDIOX buffer setting like this:

MIDI-OX > View > Sysex... > Sysex > Configure...

Image
AMP Velocity = 0 , Resonance=80%, Filter = 1500-2000, Filter Slope = 24, Effect WET = 100, P1 = above 160.
The extra resonance came from the reverb
Your device DFX is a (DAC + effect processor) with limited input level, if you increase the input level it will cause hard clipping at the input that will make the reverb produce resonance or unpleasant noise. Specially the 24 dB filter with high resonance produces massive amount of signal level. The solution for this is reducing pre-filter level (oscillators level in mixer) which lead to lower level in post-filter and DFX input. At the end you can increase the main program level to increase the overall volume of your patch.

Besides the DFX section, The main Mixer of Xenophone can be saturated and produce clipping if you set all oscillators and sub levels to 100%. The filter also has a clipping level that must be taken cared specially in 24dB mode with high resonance.
